I was very fortunate that as I was growing up in the dance business my Dancing Dad, Ray Rivers , guided me and planned the coaches for me to go to when I started travelling overseas for my dancing career . I was incredibly blessed when I was just 15 years old Ray sent me to the greats , Walter Laird, Shirley Ballas , Alan and Hazel Fletcher... and Ron Montez . That is the respect and admiration that Ray had for Ron and his talent as a dancer and a teacher . I obviously held Ron in the same high esteem since he not only continued to coach me through my Amateur Latin career but he was Michael and my weekly coach for the 6 years that we competed in Smooth .People are sometimes surprised to hear that Ron, a Latin expert, was such an important part of our very small team but he was absolutely integral to the successes we had.Ron had a way of making the most difficult concepts easy and effortless. His lead felt like velvet but made you dance like a firecracker , his calm demeanor always put things in balance and perspective and he was the perfect blend of super cool and super classy all at once that made you want to aspire to be like him. Like the rest of the dancing world I'm incredibly sad to lose him but I hope that I continue his legacy in how I teach and live .I will miss you Ron , Rest In Peace .💔💔🙏💔💔 ... See MoreSee Less
