RUMBA
What does a Rumba sound like?
The Rumba has became a very popular ballroom dance. It was introduced in the United States about 1933.

Rumba is a 4/4 Latin ballad at a tempo of 128 – 144 beats per minute. The characteristic feature is to take each step without initially placing the weight on that step. Steps are made with a slightly bent knee, which, when straightened, causes the hips to sway from side to side in what has come to be known as "Cuban Motion".

American style Rumba is danced to a variety of musical genre from the most traditional of Latin sounds to modern day pop hits.
